All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.
These verses are part of our shield of faith spoken by Paul in Ephesians 6.
Satan cannot not attack us directly, without permission from God, see the book of Job. But what he can do is tempt us into believing that something in our life, events and choices are negative. We receive what we believe, so it is very important to safeguard our hearts. The alternative to believing an event is negative is to confess Romans 8:28 and Isaiah 54:17.
Testimony in Talents Music Shop in London.
One early morning, 5.30am, I heard the door of our shop being opened and closed repeatedly. The door had a bell on it to indicate somebody had entered, and my wife and myself lived in the apartment above the shop.
This should not have been happening as we had solid aluminum shutters in front of the shop, locked at night.
I ran downstairs and there was three or four men in the shop stealing our musical instruments.
They ran away as I came crashing down.
As I looked at the carnage in the shop, tears welled up, this was not the first time we had been robbed and I was weary.
The first words out of my mouth was “Praise You Jesus, I know that no weapon formed against me will prosper and all things work together for good for those that love God.”
Trying to understand yet another disaster, that was working together for good, I said. “Lord, I know this is going to work together for good, but can You tell me ‘how’ it is going to work together for good? If you decide not to tell me I am still going to believe it is working together for good.”
He said to me “Martin, what did you ask me to do last week?” I thought about it and then remembered. “Lord I asked You if You would help me to get rid of the Yamaha equipment.” I looked around the store and indeed all of the Yamaha equipment had been stolen. I also noticed that the Alesis equipment had also been stolen. Later I found out that my wife, Janet, had prayed that God would help us to get rid of those.
The reason for praying that God would help us to get rid of this equipment was that in the music world electronic equipment depreciates very quickly as new products are brought out.
The value of this equipment was now around 4,000 dollars, but had been purchased for approximately 40,000. So if we had an amazing day and sold all of it we would have received 4,000.
But the way our insurance company worked they wouldn’t pay what it was worth but they would pay us according to the price that we had purchased them for on the invoices.
Thus, instead of 4,000 we received approximately 40,000 which became the deposit on our first home bought in London, England.
Isn’t the LORD incredible. He turned what looked like a disaster into an amazing provision for a house. I did not know ‘how’ He was going to make it work together for good. But He told me that He was answering my prayer and provided the funds needed to buy a home.
Romans 8:28 is so powerful, because it is able to change the course of our lives by what we believe. We do not need to carry any regrets from the whole of our past, present and future.
Are we carrying pains and regrets from our past? Then we haven’t dealt with them with Romans 8:28. What are we choosing to believe? Are we allowing the past to cast a shadow into our present and future.
1 Write a list of every negative event that has happened to you.
2 Take your Romans 8:28 card out. Go through each event, one by one and say “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to work together for good according to the promise in Romans 8:28.” Those events must now start creating positive good in your lives.
3 Sometimes, I can still feel a bit of pain, so I repeat the process until it no longer bothers me, I have peace.
4 Note that is says ‘All things’, that is not just the things the enemy has done, but all your own mess ups, and even sin.
5 There are conditions though, the promise is for those who love God AND are called according to His purposes. Make SURE you love Him and are fulfilling His calling.
6 Keep your card in your wallet or purse. Every time I purchase something, I see the FaithCard with my credit cards. With the credit cards I purchase physical things, and with my Romans 8 card, I purchase a better life through belief in His promises.
7 As you use these cards to change your life, give one to your friends as a gift. Belief in His promises can change lives.
When I asked the Lord if He wanted me to manufacture these cards I said to Him “Lord if You want me to make these get somebody to text me Romans 8:28 and I will manufacture them.” Within 24 hours my dear friend John texted me the verse!! An amazing confirmation as no one has ever texted me Rom 8:28. So we started to manufacture them.
